Meet Our Staff
Thomas Jones, CPA
Thomas Jones co-founded our firm in 1989. An experienced CPA, Thomas has worked in the accounting industry for over 35 years advising clients in auditing, tax, financial reporting, forensic accounting, tax compliance, and management consulting services. He has advanced expertise in working with businesses in the retail, medical, automobile dealerships, construction, real estate clients, non-profit entities, and fire districts.
Thomas graduated from Siena College with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in Accounting. He is a member of the Institute of Business Appraisers. In the Islip community, Thomas is also active in the Rotary Club of Islip, he is Finance Chairman of the St. Mary R.C. Church of East Islip, and a Board Advisor at Mondays at Racine Inc. a not-for-profit company in Islip.
Roy Little, CPA
Roy Little co-founded our firm in 1989. An experienced CPA, Roy has worked in the accounting industry for over 30 years advising clients in accounting and tax matters. He has advanced expertise in working with businesses in the retail and wholesale industries.
Roy graduated from Dowling College with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree. He earned his NYS public accounting license in 1987. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Kathleen Galway, CPA
Kathleen joined our firm in 2000, and became a partner in 2005. An experienced CPA, Kathleen has worked in the accounting industry for over 27 years advising clients in payroll, personal and business tax preparation, business consulting, non for profit and governmental auditing.
Kathleen graduated from St. Joseph's College with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Lori LaPonte, CPA
Lori joined our firm as a partner in 2015. An experienced CPA, Lori has worked in the accounting industry for over 30 years performing accounting and audits of several homeowners’ associations, fire departments, benevolent associations, County agencies, commercial entities and other exempt organizations. Included in her responsibilities are the leader for the firms quality review and also she is a "Pilot Tester" for continuing professional education courses for CPA's. Consulting services have also been provided by Lori for the audits of several hedge funds that are serviced by one of the top wealth managers on Long Island.
Lori graduated from C.W. Post / Long Island University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. Lori is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Suffolk County Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Lori maintains an active board position for three unrelated nonprofit Foundations, one as a Treasurer, one as Board member and the other as a Finance Committee Chair.
Leanne Poe, CPA Manager
Leanne joined the firm in 2012. In addition to providing training to newly hired staff, her skills include payroll, personal and business tax preparation, knowledge of payroll and sales taxes, and auditing services. She specializes in not-for-profit organizations, fire districts, and business management for retail and wholesale industries.
Leanne earned her Masters of Science degree in Accounting from James Madison University where she was also a member of Beta Alpha Psi – The International Honor Organization for Financial Information Students and Professionals. She is currently a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Jeannine Toto, CPA Manager
Jeannine Toto joined our firm in 2016. An experienced CPA, Jeannine has worked in the accounting industry for over 28 years advising clients in payroll, sales, business and personal tax preparation as well as business consulting and year-end tax planning.
Jeannine graduated from Dowling College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Accounting. She is also a licensed Notary Public for the State of New York.
Stephanie Castro, CPA
Stephanie joined our firm in 2018 as an audit associate. An experienced CPA, Stephanie has a diversified background in accounting, auditing, tax, business valuation and litigation; this includes prior work experience with a Big 4 firm.
Stephanie graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Lauren Geiser, Senior Accountant
Lauren joined our firm in 2005. Her broad base of responsibilities include business and individual income tax preparation, estate tax preparation, review and compilations of financial statements, monthly and annual accounting services, individual tax planning, budgeting and forecasting, and audits. She specializes in not-for-profits, local governments, and auto dealerships.
Lauren earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting at St. Jospeh's College.
Laura DaPuzzo, Senior Accountant
Laura joined our firm in 2007. Her responsibilities include providing monthly and quarterly accounting and year-end tax services including tax planning services; individual, corporate, not-for-profit, and estate tax returns preparation; and compilations, reviews and audits of financial statements for a diversity of clients. She specializes in not-for-profit organizations, nonpublic companies, fire districts, auto dealerships, and homeowners’ associations.
Laura earned her Bachelor's degree in Accounting at St. Joseph's College.
Pamela Curatolo-Wagemann, Payroll Systems Coordinator
Pam joined our firm in 2004. Her responsibilities include monthly write-up services, payroll and sales tax reporting and numerous other bookkeeping and accounting duties. She specializes in working with the various tax agencies' online payment systems.
Pam earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from The State University of New York at Geneseo.
Bernice Martinez, Staff Accountant
Bernice joined our firm in 2008. Her responsibilities include reconciling and maintaining and analyzing monthly records for business clients. She also specializes in payroll, sales, individual, and business tax return preparation.
Bernice earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Accounting at Dowling College. She is a member of National Association of Tax Professionals and serves on the Board of Directors for Promise Christian Ministries Inc. She is also a licensed Notary Public for the State of New York.
Jennifer Kwarta, Staff Accountant
Jennifer joined our firm in 2015. Her responsibilities include accounting services, performing tax preparation services for individuals, corporations and not for profit entities, and preparing financial statements for multiple entities.
Jennifer earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Accounting at St. Joseph's College.
Shane Acosta, Staff Accountant
Shane joined our firm in 2018. His responsibilities include individual and business tax return preparation, accounting services, payroll tax reports, and assisting staff with monthly and quarterly write-ups.
Shane earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree with a concentration in Accounting at St. Joseph’s College and previously worked with a Big 4 firm.
Maria Tuzzolo, Staff Accountant
Maria joined our firm in 2016. Her responsibilities include accounting services, assisting staff with monthly and quarterly write-ups, payroll tax reports and individual tax return preparation.
Maria is currently studying Accounting at St. Joseph’s College.
Riley Brower, Staff Accountant
Riley joined our firm in 2018. Her responsibilities include individual tax return preparation, accounting services, sales tax preparation, payroll tax reports, and assisting staff with monthly and quarterly write-ups. Riley earned her Bachelors of Science degree with a concentration in Accounting at St. Joseph’s College. She is currently pursuing her CPA license.
Taylor Glagau, Office Manager – Hampton Bays
Taylor joined our firm in 2016. Her responsibilities are to maintain office efficiency by planning and implementing office procedures, keep management informed, complete administrative work for all accountants, supporting company operations by maintaining office systems, and maintaining positive client to firm relationships.
Taylor graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in English through Stony Brook's Honors Program.
Lori Beatty, Office Manager – East Islip
Lori has been with Jones, Little & Co., CPAs, LLP since inception. Lori is highly organized with proven office management skills. She is able to deal with problems at all levels and ensures the office runs smoothly. She also provides training and orientation for new staff.
Sheila Cody, Administrative Assistant
Sheila joined our firm in January 1995. Sheila's responsibilities include reception, document preparation and computer input. She provides administrative support in a variety of capacities. She has knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and billing programs. She helps to maintain an electronic and hard copy filing system.
Evie Cowdell, Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper
Evie joined our firm in 1996 and provides administrative support in a variety of capacities. She has comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and QuickBooks. Evie also helps to maintain an electronic and hard copy filing system. She also provides bookkeeping services including bank reconciliations, preparing sales tax returns, and payroll tax returns.
Additional Professional Staff
In addition to the staff members mentioned above, each of the three offices of Jones, Little & Co., CPA's, LLP typically employs an intern from St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, Suffolk County. Our interns assist the offices with day to day accounting tasks that give them practical experience in working at an accounting firm.
